Shopping around can be a pain, but it’s less painful than a failed project.  Internet search engines are always a good place to start.  Some companies have comprehensive online portfolios, which can save you a lot of time in the vetting process.  Hong Kong-based Filmages has an online showreel and portfolio at www.filmages.com.

The Hong Kong government operates a listing of video producers on their Film Services website, http://www.fso-tela.gov.hk.

In most corporate projects, the Message takes precedence over the Art.  Make sure that your video supplier understands the audience and can communicate the message entirely and effectively.

The larger the video production company, the more likely your project will be outsourced to a freelance director or sub-contractor.  Make sure that the people that you originally trusted will stay involved, and ask to meet with the other key people involved in your production.
